The Department of Liberal Arts
The Department of Liberal Arts is responsible for teaching and researching in areas of humanities, social science and art theories. It comprises of 6 teaching offices, namely Chinese, College English, Theory of Literature and Art, Music, Ideological and Political Science, and Computer Science. Among the excellent 18-member faculty, there are three professors, ten associate professors and five lecturers.
The Department has been implementing development strategy with two focuses. One is to establish a student-oriented curriculum system and educational pattern with characteristics of BDA, the other is to enrich dance studies from cross-disciplinary perspectives and explore approaches to develop characterized disciplines of humanities and social science. The Department has offered over forty different courses as BA and MA degree core curriculum and selective curriculum, forming a primary disciplinary structure with dance English, dance music, dance literature, dance culturology and dance criticism.
The Teaching and Research Office of Ideological and Political Science
The Teaching and Research Office of Ideological and Political Science was established in April, 2009. It comprises Theory Office and Social Science Office, being responsible for researching of ideological and political science and teaching BA and MA degree programs in ideological and political science.
The faculty is composed of 6 full-time and part-time teachers, plus a group of counselors who provide important support for ideological and political work. The faculty members are committed to teaching reforms and academic researching with the purpose of cultivating well-rounded dance talents as well as characterized educational pattern of political science in art school. The Office has undertaken over ten projects at different levels and has won a first prize of Beijing Teaching Achievement, among other honors and titles.
